Manufacturing Methods :(a) in Nitrobenzene, antimony pentachloride or with titanium tetrachloride treatment 2-Aminoanthracene-9,10-dione; (b) in the presence of oxidant, with Potassium hydroxide treatment 2-Aminoanthracene-9,10-dione; (c) 1,1′-Biphenyl-2,2,-diamine into Bis phthalimido amino derivative, and then with Aluminium chloride heating, sulfuric acid and cyclization.

Properties and Applications:red light yellow. Soluble in hot Nitrobenzene, slightly soluble in o-chlorophenol, pyridine, not soluble in acetone, ethanol, Chloroform and toluene. In concentrated sulfuric acid for dark orange, yellow precipitation after dilution. In the basic insurance powder solution for blue, in acid insurance powder for green. High tinting strength and comprehensive fastness, mainly used for metal coating materials, powder coating, good light fastness.
