  Hydrazine hydrate (also called hydrazine monohydrate, hydrazinium hydroxide, hydrazine hydroxide, hydrazine) is a compound of hydrogen, nitrogen, and water, with molecular formula H₂NNH₂OH2O. It is a clear colorless liquid, melting at −51.7 °C(lit.) and boiling at 120.1 °C(lit.).

  The industrial production of hydrazine hydrate is carried out by the Raschig, Bayer and Atochem processes.

  Hydrazine hydrate is a highly effective reducing agent used in the synthesis of blowing agents; bio-active intermediates for agrochemical and pharmaceutical products; and other products including certain organic pigments for dyes, reagents for photography, urethanes and acrylics, hydrobromic acid, etc.

  Directly hydrazine hydrate is used as an anticorrosion additive in the water circuits of thermal and nuclear plants; in refining of precious metals; in formulation of rocket fuels.
